Lots of people dream of going on vacation to Hawaii, have a drink with an umbrella near the warm blue water. But you may not realize that there are many people who live there to work a play. Honolulu is a large city with an International Airport, lots of businesses several colleges and universities, hospitals and entertainment venues.
While some of the largest employers in Hawaii involve food exports such as Castle and Cooke and Dole, much of the economy is based on tourism. There are many hotels, resorts and restaurants across the islands that attract visitors from far away. If you are thinking of renting here you may be working for a large hotel or restaurant chain.
Some residents make their way here by attending college such as the University of Hawaii or Hawaii Pacific University.
Once you have settled into your new apartment in Hawaii you may want to indulge in a few of the area attractions. One popular destination is the Hawaii Volcanos National Park. Another place you may consider touring is the USS Arizona Museum at Pearl Harbor. Take a horseback ride around the island. Spend afternoons at the beach or test your skill at surfing.
