More about Idaho

The cost of living in Idaho is low compared to other western states. Housing prices are moderate and affordable and the median cost of a home ranges from about $100,000 to 160,000 in the largest cities. Utilities, transportation and other services are also very reasonable. The overall tax rate per capita is one of the lowest in the country.

Idaho has a strong and diversified economy led by manufacturing and agriculture industries while other areas like high-tech, retail and healthcare are growing. A few of the largest employers in the state are Micron Technology, US Air Force, Mountain Home AFB, and St Luke's Regional Medical Center. Lots of residents begin renting in Idaho to be near Boise State University.

An interesting fact about Idaho is that there are more than 70 types of precious and semi-precious stones found there. Some of these stones cannot be found anywhere else in the world, earning Idaho the nickname of The Gem State. While renting here you might like to spend some time like the locals do by mountain biking through amazing trails, skiing and boarding at world class ski resorts, or getting a thrill with whitewater rafting and kayaking one of the rivers. Fishing, golfing and horseback riding may also be on your agenda if you rent in Idaho.
