The Oakland Pointe apartments are well-suited for staff members of the amusement park and race track located just around the corner allowing you to get to work very timely. Commuters will have no trouble getting on I-80 for a short ride to Des Moines.

Location

Look for these apartments on 17^th Avenue N just south of Adventureland Drive. This area includes a park, a public storage facility, a few restaurants, a hotel and a bank.

Shopping & Dining

Look for some restaurants along Adventureland Drive to include pizza, barbeque, sub sandwiches etc… There are more options along 8^th Avenue including Starbucks, Pizza Hut and the fairly well rated Claxon’s Smokehouse & Grill where you will find everything from Prime Rib to grits in their relaxing dining room. Stock your refrigerator at the Wal-Mart Supercenter and pick up some appliances while you are there. Target is also a useful shop in this area.

Recreation

Residents of Oakland Pointe can walk to Village Park to play a competitive game of tennis with a friend or take kids to the playground for fun and fresh air. If you have a group there are volleyball courts here too. If you don’t have a bike you may want one when you find access to the extensive trail at nearby Greenway Park. Renters here can certainly enjoy the thrill rides of the nearby amusement park.
