The Hawks Ridge apartment is a terrific spot if you are a regular customer at the Iowa City Muni airport located minutes south. With immediate access to Highway 1, it won’t take long to zip into the downtown area or make your way to classes at the University of Iowa or to the UI hospitals. Also, if you connect to US 6 there are numerous manufacturing and auto components companies within reach.
Location
These apartments are situated between Highway 1 and West Benton Street. There are numerous businesses, retail shops, car dealers and a park in this neighborhood.
Shopping & Dining
Drive across the highway and into the parking lot of the Wal-Mart Supercenter to accomplish all of your food shopping in one spot. While you are there pick up some school supplies, a birthday card and some kitchen towels. This area features a few hair salons, auto care, office supplies, a few healthcare providers and a gas station. You can expect a decent selection of eateries nearby that includes fast food, sandwiches, Mexican and Italian. Recreation
You’re in Hawkeye country now so be sure to attend some UI football games at Kinnick Stadium. Living so close to the University Museum of Art, it can be a memorable experience to check out the collections and regular exhibitions presented. In addition to athletic fields and a playground, Willow Creek Park is a great place to go for a bike ride along the many winding trails.
