Michigan is known as a capital of the auto industry with Ford, Chrysler and GMAC as three of the state’s largest employers. Situated along three of the Great Lakes, much of the state is near the water and consumed by National Forests. Kids will like the Grand Rapids Children's Museum, the Ann Arbor Hands on Museum, Detroit Zoo and the Thunder Falls Family Water Park Mackinaw City. Or, they could explore the USS Silversides in Muskegon America's most famous surviving submarine from WWII.

With more than 40 downhill ski locations, winter sports are also a top activity for escaping your rental for some fun.
