The Riverwatch Commons apartments are tucked away on the northeast side of New Brunswick near Memorial Parkway (Route 18) and the Raritan River. Renters might choose this location for its simple access to highways and public transportation, or walkability to many fine restaurants. RU, RWJ and J&J are all located within a mile, making this a fantastic spot for employees and staff.
Location
In the neighborhood around Riverwatch you can find an Execustay Marriot hotel, and the Hyatt Hotel on either side. There are a couple of restaurants next door and others within a short walk. There is an excellent sidewalk that will let you cross the highway for extensive riverfront trails.
Shopping
One block to the west of Riverwatch you can get to George Street to find lots of specialty shops and services including a pharmacy, hair salon, clothing, cell phones and jewelry. There are a couple of local grocery stores near here but for the most part you will want to go into Highland Park on the other side of the river to reach Stop & Shop for your food supplies. Tenants of Riverwatch Commons could also take a ride down Easton Ave into Somerset for a Super Stop & Shop with even more options. For other types of shopping, take a drive down Georges Road towards US 1 to find a couple of large retail centers. The Shoppes at North Brunswick hosts many specialty retailers that you might find in a mall such as Talbots, Aeropostale and Banana Republic. On the north side of US 1, you can find Wal-Mart, Home Goods and Modell’s Sporting Goods at the North Brunswick Plaza.
Dining
Those who like to dine out often won’t be disappointed living at Riverwatch Commons with some of the city’s most popular restaurants just steps away. The Frog & The Peach is stylishly housed in an old factory building and is frequently voted one of New Jersey’s finest dining spots. If you like to dine with live music and Cajun cuisine, Old Bay is the place to go with nearly two dozen beers on tap. Other choices within walking distance include Panico’s Pizza, Chipotle, Starbucks, or Old Man Rafferty’s which has outdoor seating.

If you need to commute towards Newark or Manhattan, the train station is only one half mile away.
