Bottom Line
The Green Village Apartments in Perth Amboy, NJ are not perfect but the location will be ideal for many renters. Live here and you can quickly get onto the Parkway to reach the shore, 440 for travel to Staten Island, and the NJ Turnpike for trips to the airport or New York. There are dozens of large corporations in the vicinity and two huge shopping malls. You will have to deal with some ongoing maintenance issues as well as sounds from your neighbors.

COST
On the low side– the price of Green Village will be hard to beat in this area. There are plenty of privately owned apartments nearby where you may find one lower, but most will be higher.
This community does charge a hefty amount for pets, and there is a reasonable application fee but water and trash service are included in the rent.
LOCATION
Great for commuters – there are so many possibilities for this location as you can get on several major highways in about 2-3 minutes and travel in many different directions. You can reach the JFK Medical Center and a huge corporate park on S. Wood Avenue in about 15 minutes. Shopping at the Woodbridge Mall is a quick ride up Route 9.
Unfortunately the Perth Amboy train station is over two miles away so it is not practical for walking. But you can drive there for rides into New York.
Within walking distance you can reach an elementary school, 7-Eleven, Wal-Mart and ALDI market along with several parks.
CONVENIENCES
Laundry facility – there are no in-home washer/dryers here so you will have to use one of the onsite laundry centers or a nearby laundromat on Convey Blvd.
PETS
Pets welcome – cats and dogs are allowed with restrictions (and a large fee).
There is a large PetSmart store in Woodbridge just up Route 35.
LEISURE
Some activities– after a long day you will be able to splash around in the community swimming pool.
There is a short walking/jogging trail in the park next door and a playground at the school across the street. You will find movies at Menlo Park Mall and an indoor playground around the corner.
REVIEWS (from elsewhere)
Mixed– we read 26 reviews of Green Village Apartments so you won’t have to. By far the biggest complaint we viewed was that it was easy to hear your neighbors. While this will be true for most apartments, the message here resonated. Renters also felt it was hard to control the temperature and snow cleanup was not the greatest. A few folks mentioned their electric bill was high.
Residents were thrilled with the dynamic aspect of the location. There seems to be plenty of parking and the exteriors are nicely maintained. Some renters felt the apartments were family friendly.
