New Mexico is one of the nation’s leading producers of crude oil and natural gas. The state also is home to three air force bases (Kirtland Air Force Base, Holloman Air Force Base, and Cannon Air Force Base) along with the White Sands Missile Range and Fort Bliss. In addition to military and fuel production the state’s economy is driven by tourism with many visitors arriving to see beautiful natural sites throughout New Mexico.

Albuquerque New Mexico’s largest city is centrally located within the state and is home to New Mexico State University. The city hosts the famed annual Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta every fall. Santa Few is the state’s capital city and can be found northeast of Albuquerque. New Mexico State University is another large college, can be found in Las Cruces near the southern border.
