The city of Cortland is situated along I-81 between Binghamton and Syracuse, in the Finger Lakes region of New York. One reason many residents live here is the State University New York (SUNY) Cortland campus is located right in town. You may also take some classes at Tompkins Cortland Community College located in Dryden. The Courtland Regional Medical Center is a large employer in the area. You can catch the latest movies at Plaza 6 Cinemas. Visit the Country Music Park and Campgrounds where you can listen to music performances or enjoy a dinner show. There is also an indoor sports complex where you can join in on many activities. Greek Peak offers downhill skiing, snowboarding and tubing during the winter months. In the summer time, resident can go boating, hiking and mountain bike riding. There is also an Adventure Park with Zip Lines. If you have kids, a trip to the Cascades Indoor Waterpark will keep them entertained for hours. You can find several apartment communities along Tompkins Street south of the college and a few others scattered throughout the city and closer to the Interstate. Don’t expect to find too many home rentals in this community although it is possible to find some off campus housing options close to the school. A few townhome communities may have an occasional private rental.
