Transportation

No need for a car to get around while living here with a CH Transit bus stop located right across the street. You can access the J line to get around the city. Residents with a car can use Jones Ferry Road to reach the university in Chapel Hill or to enter NC-54 which will lead you towards Durham or Raleigh.

Shopping

On the other side of NC-54 there is a Food Lion grocery store where you can do most of your food shopping. There is also a Harris Teeter store within the Carr Mill Mall retail plaza. If you head south on NC-54 you can find a Wal-Mart Supercenter with many of the products you will need.

Dining

Whether you like to dine out all the time, grab some pizza once in a while or have an occasional night on the town, you’ll find plenty of places to meet your needs right down East Main Street and continuing on Franklin Street. There are dozens of eateries to explore and if you, Main Street has sidewalks so you can walk home.

Recreation

From late March to mid-November, you can rent a canoe or flat bottomed boat at University Lake and spend an afternoon out on the water. While living here you might check out the permanent collection at the Ackland Art Museum or get in touch with nature at the Coker Arboretum.
