A short drive down McArthur Road will lead you to a large Wal-Mart Supercenter where you can go grocery shopping or pick up pharmacy items, or electronics. There is also a Food Lion and Lowes (a great place to pick up an extension cord, light bulbs, or a plant) nearby.

A Chinese food restaurant can be found within walking distance of this property at the small strip mall near Dollar General. Beyond that, you will need to go down to Ramsey Street where there is a decent selection of eateries such as Subway (inside the Wal-Mart), Chic-fil-A and Domino’s Pizza. There is also a local pub and Italian Bistro in the vicinity.

Recreation

Living at Tamarind Place, you can be the first one through the entrance at the Smith Lake Recreation Area where you will find a lake beach, a wake board area and 8 miles of mountain bike trails.
