The city of Columbia Tennessee is 46 miles South of Nashville and within a 52 minute drive up I-65 from the state's capital. Most of the city is located south of the Duck River.

With over 2,000 employees, Maury Regional Medical Center is the largest employer in the county. Many residents here that do not commute work for smaller businesses, retail and area hotels. The community also has a diverse industrial base that is led by several automotive manufacturing facilities.

Drive along Columbia Bypass to find lots of shopping options including Wal-Mart, the Columbia Mall and several shopping plazas. If you travel up Main Street to Saturn Parkway you will come across another large retail area with lots of popular restaurants offering lots of places for a night off from cooking. Be sure to come out for the annual Southern Fried Festival in September where you can sample foods of the south, listen to some Bluegrass music or participate in many events.

Hunting for an apartment in Columbia TN will reveal several communities located here. If you plan to commute to Nashville, look for a place with easy access to the Bear Creek Pike or the north part of Main Street where you can get onto the interstate.
