Rentals Online researchers have uncovered this neighborhood for you…
Calling all AU students seeking a place off campus next semester, The Hub apartments may be an excellent choice offering a wide selection of floor plans to accommodate you and some roommates who wouldn’t mind sharing some space. This spot will enable you to ride a bike to most classes or if you are in good shape, put some tunes on your smartphone and walk the ½ mile to campus. With tennis, basketball and volleyball courts along with a pool and game room there will be plenty of things to keep you entertained right at home. The property does have a room set aside with some exercise equipment including some free weights, climbers and bikes so you won’t need a separate gym membership to stay fit.
In addition to the regular AU crowd, this site is excellent for students and staff of the AU Veterinary College whose facilities are just a stone’s throw to the south. It is also only a short ride to the Auburn Technology Park where a bunch of manufacturing companies are located, along with Tuskegee University only a bit further to the south in the neighboring town. Tiger Transit has a bus stop right at the parking lot giving you a great transportation option for those without a car and don’t like exercise.
Location
These apartments are positioned right off of Wire Road on the west side of campus near the Shug Jordan Parkway. The neighborhood includes a gas station, a restaurant and some fraternity homes. Living here you won’t be far from the AU athletic fields and courts found on the north side of Samford Avenue – a good spot if you are involved in sports or like to watch some games. If you like to do some volunteer work, the Humane Society has a site about a mile or so north.
Shopping & Dining
You can get most of your shopping done while living at The Hub by taking a ride down Shug Jordan Parkway to reach a Winn-Dixie grocery store, a Wal-Mart Supercenter, a book store and lots of restaurants. Expect to find a couple of Mexican places, sushi, fast food, a café and of course several pizza shops (Little Caesar’s and Pizza Hut) to fill you up. Near the Wal-Mart you’ll find Great Clips haircutters, a bank and self-storage. Residents can walk to a small convenience store to grab a hot dog, a cup of coffee or some snacks for the road. If you have your own car, there is a gas station and carwash here too.
At the heart of this city, the university has more than 25,000 students and 1,200 faculty members driving the area's economy.
