Avalon North Bergen Apartments in North Bergen, NJ exudes modern style, convenience and a finer style of living at a lower price than along the waterfront. Your commute will be almost as good and if you don’t need a golf simulator or concierge then perhaps this place could be a great fit. Ok, you also miss out on the quality views along River Road but you gain hundreds of shops and restaurants within walking distance.

Is this a good spot for commuters?

One of the nice advantages of this location is that you can hop an NJ Transit bus in front of the property for a ride to New York’s Port Authority Terminal in a bit longer than 20 minutes. It should take less than 10 minutes to walk to Bergenline Avenue Station if you want a Light Rail ride to Hoboken (you could connect to a PATH train). Motorists will find the Lincoln Tunnel is so close yet so far. Yes it is only 3 miles away, but that could take 15-30 minutes at times depending on traffic.

Avalon North Bergen does have an underground parking garage, but expect to pay handsomely to use it.

What will you find within walking distance?

The neighborhood around Avalon North Bergen is not the most attractive. JFK Boulevard is fairly busy but there are decent sidewalks all around. Within a few steps you can get to a laundry, dry cleaners, gas station and a few ethnic eateries. Walgreens is available for pharmacy and convenience items.

Is there anything special about the location?

Let’s face it, this is not River Road so you don’t get same view and it will take a bit longer to commute to the city. But as an Avalon North Bergen resident you will pay considerably less plus you will live only four blocks from the exciting Bergenline Avenue with its seemingly endless row of shops and restaurants. It is also just a short drive from The Plaza at Harmon Meadow and major shopping along Route 3.

How do amenities compare to other higher-end apartments?

One nice convenience is the retail shops on the ground floor where you can get some coffee, a sandwich or a bottle of wine. The biggest thing that is missing here is there is no pool. Residents can enjoy a nice game room with beautiful billiards table and get very fit in the well-quipped fitness center. There are some other perks such as package acceptance and an underground parking garage for an extra fee.
