What you should know before visiting The Madison Apartments in Westwood

One of the things you may notice about many of the apartments in Westwood is that the communities are fairly small, most with less than 100 units. So there may not always be an opening where you want to live. As one of the closest rental communities to the train station, The Madison Apartments are an excellent choice for commuters.

How long will it really take me to get to the train?

The distance between these apartments and the Westwood Train platform is just a measly .2 miles (that’s about two blocks). Even at a moderate pace it should only take you about 2-3 minutes to walk. You can expect to find full sidewalks along the entire route.

If for whatever reason you need to drive, there are some resident parking spaces (permit required) in front of the station, otherwise there are metered parking on many of the nearby streets.

New York bound renters may prefer to ride a NJ Transit bus which has a stop on Broadway about one block south. Of course you can also make a right turn on Washington Street to reach the Parkway in just five minutes.

Is this neighborhood walkable?

A huge advantage to this site is a Trader Joe’s store right across the street. It may not be good for all of your grocery shopping but you are sure to find some exciting specialty items.

One of the more popular restaurants in Westwood, The Iron Horse is one block away. You can walk to get pizza, Chinese food, and a deli. Many other dining options can be found along Broadway and Westwood Ave on the other side of the tracks.

When you feel like challenging your brain with Harry Potter or the Hobbit, the Westwood Library is a brief stroll south to Park Ave.

Recreation options

Lacking at The Madison Apartments of Westwood are onsite recreation activities such as a pool or tennis courts you might get elsewhere. You can take a short drive or bike ride along Harrington Ave to Westvale Park for a variety of facilities from sports fields to a dog park.

A movie cinema and an ice rink are right around the corner. One place you can cool off in summer months is the Stony Brook Swim Club offering pools, slides, lessons and entertainment.
