This small town is located on the east bank of the Genesee River, just 27 miles south of Rochester in northwest New York. The community is situated next to Interstate 390 and a few miles from the New York State Thruway. To the east of Avon is Canandaigua, home to one of the Finger Lakes, a hospital, water park and lots of other attractions.

The Finger Lakes region offers exciting attractions for everyone from sailing on one of the lakes to wine tasting tours and shopping in many historic downtown areas. For a great afternoon adventure away from your Avon apartment, you can head a little south to Letchworth State Park where in addition to hiking and swimming, you can try your luck at whitewater rafting, take a ride on a hot air balloon over the falls or participate in many winter sports including ice skating and snowmobiling.

The annual Avon Corn Fest features nearly 175 craft vendors, food, music and games that attract thousands from the region. During the summer, there is a concert in the park series and Saturday Nights Out event offering local music and catered food. Nearby you can find some great buys at a flea market, do some antique shopping or take in a go-kart race. Get some exercise or just take in the scenery on the Erie-Attica trail where you can walk, run or bike for miles along the river.
