Lafayette New York is a rural town located 12 miles south of Syracuse along I-81. The community is only about a 14 minute drive to Syracuse and might be a terrific place to rent if you want to live outside the hustle and bustle of the city.

The Lafayette Public Library can be found along Route 11 near exit 15 on I-81. There are several shops and dining spots near Cherry Valley Turnpike on the south side of town. Stafford Park provides a place for sports and recreation activities when you want to spend some time away from your rental. You can cool off on hot summer days at the Jamesville Beach County Park which offers a sandy beach area, boat rentals, horseshoe pits and lots of trails to explore.

The town hosts and annual Apple Festival that is one of the northeast's premier arts and crafts shows attracting nearly 100,000 visitors from all over the region. With a strong history of apple growing in the town, the event is celebrated with a apple pie contest and many other activities.

There are only a few apartment communities in this area located along Route 11.
