Transportation

Believe it or not, you can walk to a bus from here. It will take you about 12 minutes which not seem worth it, but the option is there. We suggest having a car just in case. It will take about 3 minutes to drive the 1.2 miles to reach US 401.

Shopping

Residents of Tamarack can complete grocery shopping at the Food Lion store on Country Club Drive about 3 minutes from home. There is also a Wal-Mart Supercenter close to the University that you may find helpful for household items such as cleaning products and kitchen gadgets.

Dining

You can find a nice selection of fast serve restaurants near Murchison Road including pizza, Chinese, subs and burgers. A somewhat better selection of eateries can be found along Ramsey Street a few miles away.

Recreation

Close to the university you will find a golf course and bowling lanes. If you drive down Roeshill Road you can reach the J. Bayard Clark Park where you can also access the Cape Fear River Trail. The nearest movie theater is at Omni Cinemas near Bragg Boulevard.
