Life at The Pines Apartments in Harrisburg means living on the east side of the city near excellent shopping and several large employers. In fact, The Pines is one of the closest apartment communities to Capital Blue Cross just up the street.

You might also choose this community to live near PSECU, the state employee credit union. Just a little further you can earn a degree at HACC or attend events at the Farm Show and Expo Center.

The Pines Apartments can be accessed from three separate roads. If you make your way out the main entrance on N Progress Ave you can get to The Progress Grill a popular breakfast spot. There are limited sidewalks going south but it is not far to a small shopping plaza where you can find hair and nail salons, pizza, Chinese food and sushi. Heading north there are quality sidewalks. If you lace up a comfortable pair of sneakers it will lead you to Dunkin’ Donuts, Philly Pretzel Factory and CVS.

The immediate neighborhood is nearly all residential with several churches and Susquehanna Township Middle and High Schools close by.

1. You will only have to take a short ride up Walnut Street (US 22) to reach the Colonial Park Mall with 100+ shops to explore. A bit further up the road, will get you to Colonial Commons and Paxton Towne Center. Here you will find Target, Kohl’s, Dick’s and Costco.
2. Take a brief ride north of The Pines to view the latest movies at Regal Cinemas Harrisburg 14. If you want to go bowling, ABC Lanes are just up Locust Lane.

3. Two of the more popular restaurants in the area are TGI Friday’s and Texas Roadhouse found on Union Deposit Road. This is also where you will find the nearest grocery stores including a Weis Market and Giant Food store in case you want to prepare your own meals.
