Nearly midway between Roanoke and Salem, Shenandoah Village is one place where you can take advantage of the best of both cities. With access to US Highway 460 nearby, you can travel west to Roanoke College Elizabeth Campus and the Salem Civic Center. Heading southeast on Shenandoah Avenue will lead you to downtown Roanoke in about 7-8 minutes. The VA Hospital is 3 miles southeast of here and you can get to the airport in 10-12 minutes. Some residents here will make frequent visits to the Valley View Mall where you will find dozens of specialty shops in addition to many major retailers surrounding the center such as Target, Wal-Mart and Dick’s Sporting Goods. The Shenandoah Village apartments are located only steps from the Melrose Branch Public Library where you can discover lots of great reading and media. While living here you may cruise down to Washington Park to join some friends for athletic activities such as basketball, tennis and swimming or head south to Tinker Creek to make use of the Roanoke River Greenway.
