Asheville’s Kensington Place apartments offer a terrific location on the southern end of the city where you can take advantage of many of the outdoor recreation opportunities and still have a simple ride to the city. There are many employers within a short commute of this neighborhood. The airport will be close by if you plan to do some traveling.

Location

This is a large community situated just off Sweeten Creek Road (US 25A). The area is densely landscaped and offers fantastic views of the nearby Blue Ridge Mountains. You can access US 25 in .8 miles for an easy drive towards the city.

Transportation

You will certainly need a care while living here as there is no public transportation nearby and there is not much within walking distance. Sweeten Creek Road is 45 mph and can be busy at times but you will be able to quickly reach US 25 for a faster moving highway.

Shopping

A Wal-Mart Supercenter is located just 1.4 miles from Kensington Place providing a great place for you to get grocery shopping completed as well as pick up this you might need around your home such as kitchen gear and bath supplies. There is an Ingles Markets store found less than one mile north of here on US 25. A little more than 3 miles southwest of here there is a large retail area where you will find many other shops including Target, Pier 1 Imports and Marshalls.

Families

If you are looking for a place to move with your family, you will find this property is located only a mile or so from the elementary and high schools. There is a YMCA where kids can attend regular programs, activities and sports club. The Skyland/South Buncombe Library is also in the neighborhood. Lake Julian Park (2.8 miles) has lots of great family recreation opportunities such as rental boats, horse shoes and a playground.

Attractions

When you are looking for something to do, there are two movie cinemas within 2.3 miles of this property including the Carolina Cinemas on Hendersonville Road and the Regal Cinemas Stadium 15 at Biltmore Park on Thetford Street. The North Carolina Arboretum is only 5.2 miles away and will be worth the trips to see just some of the 65 acres of cultivated gardens that includes an incredible Bonsai exhibit. There is a fee to get in, but members are free.
