Transportation

The nearest public bus stop is located at the top of Allen Road about a six minute walk from the Allenton Estates. The bus provides access to the #2 route. You should note that there are no sidewalks along Allen Road so walking is not recommended.

About one mile east of here you can reach the Stanton Square Shopping Center which has a Food Lion grocery store along with a bunch of other shops. You can get some coffee at Starbucks, get your hair cut, do some banking or have a prescription filled at the Rite Aid pharmacy. There is also a good selection of eateries at the center including a Chinese food restaurant, great for a last minute meal Mi Cabana (Mexican) and Hibachi Express.

Recreation

There are a few recreation sites somewhat close by such as Guy Smith Park which has a swimming pool and several ball fields. Residents may enjoy regular trips to the Town Common where you can go bike riding along the Tar River Greenway trail.
