Bottom line
The Crossings at Plainsboro is a recently renovated community just outside of Princeton that is close to public transportation, shops and large employers. This is one of the closest rental options to the Plainsboro Shopping Center.
Lifestyles:
COST
Higher than average– the base rent for an apartment here is slightly higher than most nearby communities. We compared prices for the six nearest rental properties and found a one bedroom here to be near the top of the range based on price per square foot.
You will want to take a close look at all pricing factors though as pet rents and other fees vary between properties.
LOCATION
Ideally situated – it won’t get much better than this. The Crossings at Plainsboro is nestled between a park and a brook for a serene setting. Renters can walk to shops, restaurants and the public library. Schools and the Princeton Junction Train Station are very close. The property is also just a couple of minutes from the area’s top employers.
A nice advantage of this spot is you can go for a daily walk or jog along the Lenape Trail behind the complex.
Tip: the 600 bus of NJ Transit stops in front of this community so it is easy to reach a variety of shopping centers and the train station from this spot.
CONVENIENCES
In-home washers and dryers– no lugging clothes around the complex here!
There is also a town park next door.
PETS
Pet friendly– both dogs and cats are welcome with a few restrictions although no weight limit for dogs. A one-time fee for pets is a bit more here than other places. Pet Smart is within a couple of miles.
LEISURE
Decent activities– on the premises of The Crossings at Plainsboro you can find a large pool and tennis courts. There is also an exercise room so you can stay fit. At Plainsboro Park next door there are several other tennis courts, plus a playground and ball fields. This property is very close to the town’s recreation center where you can play pickle ball or join a scraping club, and a public golf course is around the corner.
REVIEWS
Very Satisfied– after reading 100 reviews of The Crossings at Plainsboro, we have a pretty good idea what renters think about this apartment community. The response has been overwhelmingly positive. Residents are thrilled that these apartments are close to retail shops, the library and a bus. The property is said to be clean and the grounds quiet and natural. A few people cited insects (centipedes) inside the apartments.
Tenants here also have many positive things to say about the management and maintenance staff. Words used to describe them include responsive, reliable, kind, and professional. The application and move-in process have been noted as simple.
