Cumberland is a town in Providence County, Rhode Island. The community shares a boarder Massachusetts on the eastern and northern sides and the Blackstone River to the west. Residents can use Interstate 295 or Route 99 to head south towards Pawtucket the next town over and Providence just 15 miles away.

There are several annual festivals here such as the Arnold Mills Fourth of July Parade and Cumberlandfest which features carnival rides, live entertainment and a fireworks show attracting thousands of people from the area. Diamond Hill State Park is a wooded park with a few fields for sports and games, picnic areas, and a hiking trail where you can get great views of the area. A few miles away from your Cumberland apartment you will find Diamond Hill Vineyards where you can head over to their tasting room and if you find a wine you like, add your own label. For an interesting history of the region, The Museum of Work and Culture depicts life in the mill towns along the Blackstone River.

The town also has a cultural arts center called The Blackstone River Theatre where you can attend a concert, dance or theater performance. In the fall, the Phantom Farms apple orchard and farm stand offers visitors apple picking, pumpkin picking and fresh baked goods. For Halloween, don’t miss the scariest trail in southern New England at Haunted Hill.
